This isn’t your traditional carbonara but it is most certainly a keeper.
Cooking Time (Includes Preparation Time): 15 Minutes
Go heavy with the black pepper. Make sure you use smoked bacon.
100g of Parmesan
500g of Orzo
1 Pack of Smoked Streaky Bacon
1 Garlic Clove
2 Teaspoons of Chilli Flakes
Grab a bowl, add 6 egg yolks, 100g of grated Parmesan and a generous amount of black pepper. Mix with a fork and set it aside.
Chop up your bacon into small bite-size pieces and throw into a frying pan. Cook until crispy.
Get your orzo on. Follow pack instructions and salt the pasta water generously.
Chop up the garlic and add this to the bacon followed by the chilli flakes. Take a ladle of pasta water and add this too.
Once your pasta is cooked, add it to the pan and mix everything together. Add your egg and Parmesan mix and stir. Add some more pasta water until you have a silky texture. Serve it up and tuck into this delightful little dish!
